The Bhutanese Refugees' Historical and Cultural Complex (BRHCC) is available for advance reservation by members of the Bhutanese diaspora and international community members interested in spiritual retreats, meditation, cultural visits, or academic research stays.
Amenities
The Bhutanese Refugees' Historical and Cultural Complex (BRHCC) has three self-contained studios or apartments, each with a private kitchen, private bathroom, and meditation space. The BRHCC is enclosed by a concrete wall topped with iron grills and includes a haun kunda, tulsi mot, Tulsi garden, Freedom Corner, and a public kitchen.
The surroundings are filled with a variety of flowers, betel nut plants, mango trees, Malacca trees, and other plant species that create a peaceful environment. At least a dozen species of birds inhabit the boundary walls, creating a pleasant and calming atmosphere during the morning and evening hours.
This place is ideal for a week-long or extended stay, especially for those seeking spiritual rejuvenation and personal renewal. A group of six to eight members can comfortably stay, preparing meals in their private kitchen, cooking together in the public kitchen, or enjoying outdoor dining at nearby restaurants in the Charali area, which are within walking distance.
BRHCC is adjacent to Srimonnarayana Devasthan, where guests may attend morning and evening worship services.

Studio Units
Gongdara Kutty
Gongdara Kutty features a sleeping room measuring 12 × 11 ft, with a kitchen, meditation space, closet, and a comfortable sofa set. Its private bathroom includes both an Indian-style toilet and a commode, along with a spacious shower area, providing convenient options for spiritual practitioners.
It is located on the second floor and requires climbing a staircase with 21 steps. The room is equipped with a ceiling fan and air conditioner and offers beautiful views of the courtyard and the foothills of Ilam through its northern windows.
Gongdara Kutty is ideal for a couple or an individual who wishes to cook their own meals and spend time in meditation.

Hatisar Kutty
Hatisar Kutty includes a sleeping room measuring 12 × 11 ft, with a meditation space, closet, and comfortable sofa set. Its kitchen is located adjacent to the entrance of the room.
In addition, there is a smaller two-bedroom space, an additional spacious kitchen, and a well-furnished dining area. The unit includes two washrooms with private shower facilities.
These facilities are located on the third floor and require climbing 41 steps from the ground floor. The room is equipped with a ceiling fan and overlooks the courtyard and the foothills of Ilam through its northern windows.
This floor also provides access to both a covered terrace and an open terrace, making it an excellent place to relax in the shade or enjoy sunlight.
Hatisar Kutty is ideal for a couple or a family with two children.

Ratey Khola Kutty
Ratey Khola Kutty consists of two floors.
The ground floor includes a bed, kitchen, and a combined toilet and shower space. This floor is reserved for special guests and is not available for general visitors.
The upper floor has two rooms, a veranda, and a combined toilet and shower facility. Two single beds are available along with a kitchenette.
The inner room measures 10 × 10 ft and includes a single bed and meditation space. The outer room contains a single bed adjacent to the kitchenette.
The veranda overlooks the lawn and flower garden in Freedom Corner. The structure is built in traditional Nepali (Pahari) style and is an ideal place for long-term stays, especially between November and March.
Upon request, additional furnishings and household items can be provided, including a small refrigerator, air cooler, or table fans.

Lamidara Kutty
Lamidara Kutty is designed for family gatherings or for individuals wishing to spend time with family members in a friendly and spiritual environment.
It includes three rooms with four beds, a kitchen, and a dining table. A spacious veranda with comfortable chairs is available for relaxing and entertaining visitors.
A common room is available for family gatherings, kirtan, or prabachan. This room also serves as a display area for family photographs and artifacts.

The complex is adjacent to Srimannarayana Devasthan, allowing guests to attend morning and evening worship services with ease.
The surroundings are enriched with flowering plants and trees and are home to more than a dozen species of birds, creating a serene atmosphere, especially during early morning and evening hours.
For meals, guests may cook in their private kitchens, prepare food together in the shared public kitchen, or enjoy outdoor dining at nearby restaurants in the Charali area within walking distance.

The reservation process for this complex is similar to Airbnb. Guests must reserve in advance, follow house rules, provide a security deposit, and leave the rooms in good condition upon checkout.

Support Facilities
BRHCC has a welcome reception desk with a waiting parlor on the ground floor of the annex building.
The main building includes a private office and a place of worship and meditation used by Dr. D.N.S. Dhakal on the ground floor, which is reserved for family, friends, and relatives.
Additionally, there is a reception hall on the second floor displaying photographs of family members from the fourth generation. This hall also serves as a theater space for family functions and for welcoming guests, learned pundits, and Acharyas.

Devghat / Management
Ananta Rizal serves as the event manager and is based in Hari-Har Chetra, located at the confluence of the Kali Gandaki and Trisuli rivers. Hari-Har Chetra is one of the holiest places in Nepal and houses several Vaishnavite and Shaivite temples.
Several gurukulams are located nearby, including Harihar, Mahesh, Galeswar, Gargi, and Bageswari. These ashrams have batuk Brahmins and learned pundits who can perform Bahun Bhojan, karma kanda, and ritualistic pujas such as thithe-Shradha and nuwaran.
Long-distance video consultations can be arranged for Jyotish consultations, pinda daan, or nuwaran ceremonies.
In addition, visitors may request arrangements for tirtha-snan and guided visits to holy places such as Triveni, Gajendra Moksha, and Valmiki Ashram.
Long-distance pilgrimage visits can also be arranged upon request to Muktinath (Mustang), Swargadwari (Pyuthan), and Janakpur (Dhanusha).
