Founder & Chair
Dr. Dhakal is the visionary founder of the Bhutan Nepal Foundation. With decades of experience in advocacy and cultural preservation, he has dedicated his life to documenting the Bhutanese refugee experience and fostering dialogue between Bhutan, Nepal, and the diaspora community.
The ideas for the Bhutan Nepal Foundation (BNF) and the Bhutanese Refugee Historical & Cultural Complex (BRHCC) originated from Dr. Dhakal's commitment to preserving truth and promoting reconciliation.
Dr Dhakal also serves as the Acting President of Bhutan National Democratic Party (BNDP) and has worked in over thirty countries as an international consultant on Public Finance and Project Appraisal and Risk Management. He holds a bachelor degree in engineering (India) and multiple masters' degrees and a PhD from the United States of America.
